Updating ESTA from a previous refusal/denial

My previous CEAC status was 'refused' and so my ESTA status is denied based off that. Since then my case has progressed.

My current CEAC status is 'ready' and will shortly move to being issued.

When/how do I change my ESTA? is it just a matter of filing again and then, when it asks 'have you been previously denied a visa' checking 'no'?

Thanks

ESTA is to check your eligibility to travel without a visa on the visa waiver program. You will travel on a visa and then a greencard beyond that. No more ESTA needed by you.

Also wondering why you need ESTA.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Ah that's ok. I was planning (previously) to visit the wife while waiting for my visa issues to be worked on. And so then I would have been going on a tourist visa.

Thanks.

ESTA has nothing to do with a Tourist Visa.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
