Hi all,

I recently received the NVC welcome letter with my case and invoice number for my mom's petition I am a little confused and I was wondering if anyone that has gone through the same process that can help me out I am just wondering after I pay my fees online what documents do I need to submit to the NVC ? they did send a sheet but is not specific to what documents I need to submit for my case , I have read that they need financial documents so do I send my last 3 years of tax returns ? and the tax transcripts ? do I need to resubmit my birth certificate ? and the affidavit of support document I864 I believe it is ( correct me if I am wrong ) do I submit that to the NVC as well or does my mom need to take that to her interview at the embassy ? one more thing I am also confused about the DS160 can I submit that for my mom since she doesn't have access to the internet if anyone has gone through all of this process before that can shed some light it would be truly appreciated it.

thank you :)

You should check out Saylin's guide. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

You can submit the AOS/IV package as soon as you submit the COA and pay the AOS fee. No need to wait until the IV fee is paid.

You don't need to send all 3 years. Send the tax transcript for the latest year (2014). I don't think a copy of your birth certificate is needed again, but you can always send a copy. You should submit these all to NVC and make a duplicate copy of everything so your mom can take it with her to the interview.

Yes, you can submit the DS-260 on behalf of your mom.

@Teeak thank you so much for your response stupid question for you what is a COA ? also when I go online is only asking me to pay one fee do you know why ? I think is the IV fee $ 120 it doesn't show me any other fee this is so confusing

COA - choice of agent form (DS-261)

AOS - affidavit of support

IV - immigrant visa

You should be able to complete the COA since you've received the AOS. Currently the AOS fee is $120 which you can pay now. Once NVC reviews your choice of agent form, they'll invoice your IV fee ($325) which you should receive in a few weeks.

Hi Jayden1000 I am a little confused I thought things as police certificated and passport pictures were taken by the beneficiary to the embassy on the day of the interview? I thought what us the petitioners submit to the NVC is all of the support documents ? am I wrong ? you are a little a few steps ahead of me since you already paid your fee and chose your agent.

Yes, you need to send in police certificates and passport sized pics as well as a copy of the passport. You really should read the guide I posted.

No worries. We were all new to this process at some point! :)

Basically, all documents need to be submitted to NVC and that package will be forwarded to the embassy. Your mom will need to take copies of everything you submit to NVC to the interview since they may ask to see her copies.
