just recently found out that mother is taking anti depressants and anti anxiety meds, would that cause a problem if i petition her? i read on many of the threads here that st lukes do psychological tests

There is a great possibility that they will do a psychological testing and interview with a Psychologist. This will put a delay on your processing, depending on the interview date, some 2-4 weeks.

As long as they are doctor prescribed there should not be an issue. Have copies of the medical records from her doctor is my suggestion.

yes it is prescribed by her psychiatrist.. can it be grounds of visa denial?

It can be but, we rarely have seen that happen.

A few months back, someone was here who was a "cutter". They made razorblade cuts on their wrist if my memory serves me. This activity was many years ago that she did this and nothing since then. During the examination, the SLEC Doctor asked her about them. The SLEC Doctor referred her to a psychology exam. After meeting with the Psychologist and explaining the circumstances, and how things have changed, the Doctor approved her medical. She is now living in the US with her husband.

Being seen by a psychologist and using prescribed medication sends a clear message the individual is "controlling" what they are facing. Having said that, you just need to leave it in the hands of the "experts" for now. Take a deep breath and keep moving forward.

Your hope is in your WILL.

Here is a link that was posted today about someone who had the Psychology meeting. I think you can gain a lot from what she said about her experience.
