Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you to everybody that has contributed to this site. Although I'm a first-time poster, the information here has been an invaluable resource. My fiancee and I have received our NOA2 and I'm preparing to send her the documents for her interview at the Embassy in Tokyo.

My question is about the supporting documents needed for the I-134. I'm a freelancer and have been since 2010 and although I've primarily worked for the same company, I'm not their employee so I have no letter of employment. My income for the past two years has exceeded the 125% minimum poverty level requirement for the i-134. I'm nervous about having enough supporting documents. The documents I have so far are as follows:

1. Tax transcript for last year

2. 1040 tax document for last year

3. Schedule-C document for last year

4. A year of bank statements printed from my bank's website (they said they had no way to provide me with an official letter about my account).

What other documents would I need to provide alongside the I-134? I've searched the forums and have seen conflicting information, especially between the embassies in different countries. I'm scared of not providing everything needed and messing up. Any information and advice would be extremely helpful and really appreciated! Thanks!

The income that is looked at is line 22 on your most recent form 1040. Bank statements and the forms should be ok.

Check the Tokyo embassy website for any specifics they may want to see.

Thanks, Anh map! That gives me peace of mind!

One more question. is one year of tax transcripts fine or do I need three years?

Thank you!
