Hello... well, as its stated in the title, i completed our DS-160 of me and my child and now my fiance and i are waiting for available date appointments on the website https://ais.usvisa-info.com/es-co/iv in order to pay our K1/K2 visa fees.

I called the embassy to seek information about new dates, but all i get are recordings and no operator to talk to. Also, since i got no answer, im thinking of sending them an e-mail, but im not really sure if thats smart.

We are wondering if anyone else is going through the same thing or has gone through the same, and if you know how many days passed until you were able to pay and schedule your interview..

We hope we dont have to wait too long >_<

Post away pleaseee, advice usss, let us knooow. Thank you.

*** Country-specific thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the Mexico/Latin/South America regional subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You just have to wait for a window to open when dates are available but it will happen, probably in the first two weeks of September. That said people cancel and their might be another date available, you just have to keep checking.

I register to make an appointment the last two weeks of July and waited till August 12th for available dates to appear and checked everyday in between. Be reay to move once available dates appear because they could be the following week - so have travel plans to Bogota set and have all your paperwork ready to go. My appointment was only 12 days after scheduling but had to complete medicals in Bogota just 6 days after so be ready to take next steps.

So we finally had September 29th and chose the payment method (cash). Went to pay at the bank on the same day and when i logged in on my account after receiving the confirmation receipt in my email, it shows there are no available dates on the calendar.. i hate this, not fair, now more waiting?! UGH

We have been waiting since September 2. I know that is not as long as some other people, but its just so frustrating. We both thought the waiting was over after we got our NOA2 from Texas. Now we sit and wait a little longer. I have been obsessively checking the scheduling website every hour of the day since we completed the DS160.

Fingers crossed for everyone that the window opens up soon!!!

Took my mother-in-law a year to get a tourist visa from the US consulate in Bogota so she could come to visit us. Her daughter with a K1 only took nine months.

What can I say about US government employees that are way overworked and under paid? Or is it the other way around?
