Let's just say you have your combo card and you have planned a trip home flights paid for and everything and you end up getting your greencard interview about a week before you are due to leave so you know you wouldn't be able to get your greencard in the mail on time ,will they allow you to keep your combo card in order to leave the country?I'm getting worried this may happen to me a lot of the people who filled around the same time as me are starting to get their interview dates for end of September which is getting close to my trip home.please don't tell me I should of waited until after my green card to travel home ,I have already missed out on so much including my best friends wedding as I was worried about traveling home before I receive my greencard.I have a very sick family member and I'm concerned if I leave it any later than I already have I may not get chance to see them again

When I was having my interview, the IO told me to keep the combo card. He said, obviously this card is still useful before you actually receive your green card. Either looking for a job or traveling.
