hello all,

I'm organizing the documents for the IR-1/CR-1 visa (I-130 petition) and I was curious: when making copies of your passport for proof of citizenship, do you make copies of *all* the pages? Even the empty ones? Or just the ones with stamps on them and the bio page? Want to make sure that I am doing this right.

I-130 Approved: November 14, 2014 ( after two service request) 

NVC: 6 months
Received : December 1, 2014
Received DS-261 / AOS Bill : January 1, 2015
Pay AOS Bill : January 9, 2015
Submit DS-261 : January 7, 2015
Receive IV Bill : January 15, 2015 called after AOS showed paid, they released it overnight)
Pay IV Bill : January 23, 2015
Send IV and AOS: January 29, 2015
Scan date: February 3, 2015
Checklist: March 19, 2015 (only need to send south Africa police report)
Case Complete: June 3, 2015 

EMBASSY: 10 months
Interview appointment letter : December 4, 2015
Interview Date : January 21, 2016 medical wasn't complete
Second interview date: April 4th 2016
Interview Result :APPROVED!!!
Visa Received : 4/13/2016 ( they sent us a email stating our visa was ready for pick up)

USA LIFE
US Entry :4/29/2016 
Social Security : 5/10/2016 (filed from the actual office)
State ID: 5/14/2016
Started working!!: 5/25/2016
Finally paid green card fee: 6/24/2016 ( note said we will receive it within 60 days)
Green card in hand: 7/5/2016 10 year green card we done!! 

1st king born: 6/30/2016

April 2017 update: Marriage still going strong, baby boy getting bigger. Life is good

When I sent mine I had gathered everything and copied just the bio page. Then panic set in and I couldn't find an answer anywhere. I ended up coping the entire passport and printing the bio page in color and the rest in black and white- I had no issues.

oh and your next question maybe does it need to be in color or back and white is fine. either is fine

no no no.. you need all pages. if you send just bio page you will get an RFE. I believe the instructions states send all pages of passport

I sent all pages even the front and back of the cover. I believe I had read that somewhere. Anyway, that's how I did it.

We got a RFE for not proving that we had met in person. I had copied only my ID page and the page that contained the stamp. In the RFE reply, we sent the entire passport, every page, and circled on the copy which visas were relevant to the meeting in person. They don't seem to have the ability to logically follow the ID page to the Visa page. They need every painful page in between and after.

If it's just to show proof of US citizenship, you only need to send the bio page, which is the page that shows your nationality. If you're using your passport to show bona fida relationship (having met in person) as well, you should send all pages.

went to UPS and asked for more formal copy

they said illegal to do in color

you do need all pages / even empty ones / this is to prove they are empty and you are not hiding a tirp

This is true. Kinko's wouldn't copy most of my official documents in color. Used a personal computer to copy the bio so it would be in color. The rest I just did at work..

I had just gotten my passport a month before and had just taken one trip.i honestly believed it was a waste of time but better safe than sorry. Better they have it there in case they have a question than to have to send it in.
