I cannot answer that. Non-immigrant visa seekers often schedule their own interviews. I know the K1 in Canada do for both Vancouver and Montreal.

Also looking at the side bar, there are 4 recent IR1/CR1 approvals. Each from a different country.

Yup, that's not to say that interviews aren't happening.

I know it doesn't monitor every case that NVC deal with globally however Dwheels data would certainly give the indication that something somewhere is amiss.

I agree, but like I said, last year, also in July and August, there was a slow down. For example, no one who had a CC in July got in interview in Montreal until Sept. August ended up a month behind as well.

I wish I didnt remember things like that though. I'm pretty sure I have better things for my brain to work on.

Either way I really do not think it's the NVC's fault. DOS yes. I do hope you all get a quick interview date. Get your representatives involved if you want. But either be proactive or be patient for what's in the middle isn't good for anyone's mental health. Just imho.

The figures from the DWheels data link for the period July and August last year indicate that cases were notified of scheduled interviews pretty much after a fortnight for nearly all cases, so at least people knew they may have a long wait to interview. The waiting is frustrating but usually we have some idea of average times between each step at the moment even those who are hanging on the phone to NVC aren't getting any indications.

BUT you are right - frustrating as it may be we have to accept that the wheels will turn and eventually pretty much everyone will know whether they will receive a visa or not in the end, however long that may be. Getting wound up just makes the whole thing more likely to end in a breakdown. :)

Sadly this thread turned into debate with ego. I thought people who dealt with immigration for long and are members of this site for a while would learn that there is no such thing as absolute when it comes to USCIS, NVC and embassy. We all have different background and experiences, as such each case is unique. Sadly we are forgetting that my own experience can be used for knowledge and MAY help other prepare better but MAY not absolutely work on someone else.

Can anyone suggest if there is anything someone can do to speed up the process? One suggestion was to reach out to congressman but that also is a time consuming process that may not bring much benefit. anything else?

Sadly we want some way to push things along, but reality nothing one can do.

Keep calling or get your senator or congressmen involved. I tried the senator not even a form letter reply and it's been over a week.
