So I had my interview in Sydney last week and our visa was approved!

Re: proof of relationship - they didn't even look at any of my proof! They just asked me about where we met, got a basic timeline of our relationship, and where we were going to live in the US - that's it!

I am holding onto all the proof of relationship paperwork though, just in case the US officials want to look at it in the interview later on down the track

thanks!! & congrats!!

if you dont mind could you give us some more details about your experience & what they seemed very interested in knowing?? Thanks!!

They wanted:

- all my identification info (birth cert, passport, police check) and Larissa's affadavit of support with financial info attached

- revalidation letter from Larissa, as I wanted to travel later than the expiration date

- In the interview portion (which took about 10 minutes) they asked where we met, if we were living together when we were in Australia, where we were going to live in the US. They didn't ask for any proof of relationship. *I don't think it matters if you have lived together or not, but in case we have bounced between countries and travelled separately for periods, so I think the interviewer was just trying to get a sense of the past year.

It was seriously so relaxed! I got my passport 4 business days later.

expiration date of petition - because we had to wait 2 months for the interview, ours was going to expire 8 days after the interview and I wasn't ready to go yet!

yes something like that. I don't fully understand the specifics, I just brought a signed dated letter from my partner saying she was still willing and able to marry me when I come to US
