Hi all

So my aunt passed her interview in GUZ last month. I got her a roundtrip tickets from China to Chicago (RoundTrip is actually 400 cheapter than ONEWAY!), but now wondering if this is going to be a problem. Some one mentioned to me today that roundtrip will raise questions at poe with immigration. Is this true? I am kinda concern since she doesnt really speak english....Can I write a letter explaining that roundtrip was purchased to save cost and that she had no intention of using the return iternary? Thanks

I don't see how the POE immigration will know her ticket is roundtrip.

Just be sure to cancel the return flight portion once she arrives in the US.

at poe, it won't matter.

what will matter, after poe,

is

if she NOT cancel the return portion of her ticket, as

the airlines turn over their data to DHS. Sometimes this causes problems when trying to get to the next stage of stuff for USCIS, later in the calendar.

so, focus, instead, on canceling the return portion of her ticket, but only after she's actually inside the USA. Might get a bit of a refund, if you attempt the cancellation within the first week past POE.
