USC getting Jamaican Citizenship

Has anyone recently applied to get Jamaican citizenship. If so, what documents are required, where exactly do you mail the documents, and how long did it take.

I have not applied so I can't answer how long it takes. There are a few websites that list all the documentation needed and the requirements. It's a start.

You go to PICA 25 Constant Spring Rd Upstairs

Have

US PP & birth cert

Marriage cert

Copy of spouse Bio page of their PP (if spouse is Jamaican)

Police record from your country (recent)

If already a holder of JA work permit take that

Character ref letters

I think form should be signed by JP

You get citizenship easier if a parent or grandparent is Jamaican (you need their birth cert to claim that right)

If seeking citizenship thru yrs of working living in Jamaica, have a letter from employees & tax payment info

If opening a biz to obtain citizenship...have all plans and biz funding proof, also support the idea of hiring

a few JAs in biz...good luck

I got my jamaican citizenship at the jamaican embassy in New York. I carried my fathers birth certificate and my birth paper to prove that he was my father. The process took me about 2 1/2 months and it was very easy and simple. But that's if you are applying thru a parent. And the cost was about 2 something.
