I wonder if anyone has taken the time to ask the driver why he passed up a fare? Maybe they were arguing, and he didn't want that in his cab? Maybe he recognized them from a previous ride, and they stiffed him, and he wasn't going to give them another free ride? Or perhaps he was told by a dispatcher to pick up the fare that he passed them up for?

So many options other than bigotry. And with a name like his, I suspect something less... wicked in his actions.

Maybe none of it is important.

Hundreds of cabbies were accused of refusing passengers based on race, gender or other improper factors in a subsequent undercover crackdown

Looks like they performed a sting operation to come up with this conclusion.

“Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.” – Coretta Scott King

"Oppressive language does more than represent violence; it is violence; does more than represent the limits of knowledge; it limits knowledge." -Toni Morrison

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it.

Liquor board do the same thing, quite disgusting. I have heard some real horror stories.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
