Checked the CEAC visa status page for over the last 3mo it has said it was at the NVC and today it said it was in transit to the HCMC consulate and a interview date had been set. I checked with NVC and they said packet left today for the consulate, but no date in the system for interview. I'll see if a date crops up in a few days or perhaps the email will come unlike past emails from the NVC.

Cheers all - I am feeling better now but honestly won't be satisfied til visa is in her passport. Hopeful this period will move quicker than the last one. Not the wait so much but having a date where there is an end in sight. Not knowing what is going on is absolutely brutal.

Once I know the interview date I'll let everyone know.

After further review our case was expedited so looks like timeline wait for Viet interviews is still extending for IR1/CR1. Never requested officially through the NVC, but least case is at the consulate now not at the black hole known as the NVC.

Once the dust settles I'll check with the consulate to see if there is a scheduled interview date. I was hoping this was part of the normal process so it would be helpful to others waiting.

Unknown NVC had no explanation unless it had to do with contacting my Senator, but not heard from him so seems doubtful.

drop an email at the hcm embassy. If they have your case, they should give you an interview date.

did you contact your senator by mail or email? How was your message composed and what was the mood of your message? This is good info for all of us :)
