Despite reading numerous threads, does anyone here on VJ understand how NVC works on cases? Does Fedex\Post Office drop off the packages on the NVC floor?

And then how do staff determine which petition to review next?

Is there a rhyme or reason to NVC’s workload, or just sheer luck?

Please share anyone.. I sure as heck can’t figure this Agency out.

September 10, 2009: Arrived for first meeting in-person!
June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!
June 21, 2010: Engaged!!!
September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

NVC works? Haha... It's really a ####### shoot! Some of the agents work faster than others so you'll see that some are completed in 20 to 30 days... Than there are the slow ones that take 2 months or longer... You are just stuck with what or whom you get.... Wish you all the luck that you get a hard working agent

Yeah, some are luckier than others. Our I130 was completed faster than we expected, but it's all even now with the NVC delays. My wife is really anxious to see me in person, and I'm missing her too.

Here's hoping we get a "faster" hard working NVC agent. Soon!

Hi , My spouse filed I-130 for me on March 5th 2015 while he was a legal permanent resident. The I-130 was approved from USCIS on May 5th 2015 and they forward the file to NVC. We got nvc case number in June 3rd 2015. Now Myspouse become US Citizen on 16th July 2015 and our attorney sent the naturalization certifictae and my husband's change of name certificate from the district court in mail to the NVC. And on 28th july 2015 my visa category change to CR1. Recently we got a mail from NVC that they need 30 days to review documents and after they will inform if they need any further documents or schedule for interview.

We paid fees but we didn't submit affidavit of support. So when I can submit this document and DS form? Is it take long time?

first thing to know is you dont get luck twice with immigration services , i dont think NVC works , you have to push them to work otherwise you ll get stuck in there for ever , yeah i know some of us get lucky but that does not happen to most of us

as it has been mentioned before , the way NVC works really depends on many factors , one of them is how fast is the agent you have been assigned to , 2 no checklist as it delay your case process , 3 are you really following up with them as the more you annoy them the more they try to get rid of you by finishing your case :) this last one apply to me as i call them as much as i can

i see you have submitted your ds 260 since june ? still nn CC , try to call the supervisor as many time as you can , believe me it works

How do we know which supervisor (to ask for)? Do they tell you, and how to reach one, if I ask?
