no response to k3 petition yet

Hello VJ members, my husband sent my first petition on July 8 and since then we have not received any mail or response..is this normal pls,thanks and waiting for a reply

Thanks lowlie,i told my husband about it but he said he got a message from them saying he would get a reply from them one month later(august8),i know the first petition takes maximum of 5days,so this got me wondering what's going on,and I don't want this journey to take longer than it should cuz of our error

@ebunoluwa,i mean from the period the petition is first filed to the period of receiving the first mail from them,i think that's the "NOA1

Since you haven't actually gotten the NOA1 yet, you can't have started the K3 process yet.

USCIS can take up to 60 days to issue a confirmation of receipt of a petition. Not 5, 60 days.

What exactly was sent in with the initial petition?

Has the cheque been cashed?

Yes. More than likely in about 5 months when they adjudicate your petition you will get a RFE (Request For Evidence). You are dealing with Lagos. You need alot more than a marriage certificate to prove a bonafide relationship. A whole lot more.

I strongly suggest you and your husband read the Nigerian Interview reviews and just take note of the mountain of evidence people have submitted with petitions to get approvals. and how they prepared for one of the toughest embassies on earth.

Also did you not send also a G1145 with your petition to get notification via email and text when received. If not it can take usually 20 to 30 days to get the hardcopy 797C (NOA1) in the mail.

Maybe I'm confusing this whole thing up,my husband in the state submitted an i-130 form and g-325a form,so what type of visa category is that?
