I did one screen shot that showed the total number of messages to be down loaded. We did not get an RFE.

It depends on which you use. Most common platforms/messaging apps are Skype, Facebook, Viber, Yahoo messenger. With Skype, you can copy the whole chat history from the chat box then paste it onto a Word file. With Facebook, we did screenshot. With Viber, there's a "Send chat history to your E-mail" kinda option in there, you can copy paste it on to a Word file as well.
