Hi all,

I am currently working as a website developer @ Bengaluru since two years and currently i am having 2.2 years of experience in relevant field. I want to work in US and New Jersy especially because i have support to live and i'll get work there but not in my field just another , but lots of people say that your experience in getting H1B visa for my field is less. And how would it be if i go with Student or F1 visa?

Kindly suggest me the better path to move on for my better career. It would be much thankful to you all.

what area is your degree in?

For a work visa you'll need an employer with the desire to petition for you for a visa.

For a student visa, you'll need acceptance into an accredited school and the funds to pay for the education.

Your support system, is any of them eligible to petition for you for an immigrant visa?

What country are you from? Are you from one that qualifies for the diversity lottery visa?

good luck

My suggestion is you look for graduate study in computer science. Depending upon your academic qualification, GRE n TOEFL scores, ur work experience and the research areas if the professors of the university u will be applying to, u might get some sort if research or teaching assistantships.

1. Take GRE and TOEFL.

2. Apply for Grad study in 4 - 5 universities

3. Go thru research areas of professors and email professors showing ur interest if it matches with what u r working on or if u r interested in that research

4. After getting approval (i-20), apply for f1- visa

5. After graduating from Universities in US, finding jobs will be much easier

6. You will be in good luck if by that time the motion of giving GC or direct work permit without H1 lottery to STEM graduates gets passed.

Well thanks for your valuable reply's , but some of them in US which are close to me are saying that walk through Student Visa here it would be far good... so in future if you graduate from US university you may get good job.

So is this a better thing or i shouldn't go for it.

And is TOEFL/GRE necessary ? Or is it ok if we have cleared IELTS with good bands.

One more suggestion required -> Whether we give IELTS Academic or General what's the difference? Can i not give general , so that if any good offer comes i could go for it else last student visa.

Could somebody translate?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
