Meanwhile, is anyone talking about Detroit anymore?

There is an area in downtown Detroit, no larger than 2 or 3 city blocks in size, that is seeing a bit of an urban renaissance.

I seem to be hearing and reading about that a lot lately. That the area in question is tiny does not seem to matter because where there was previously no hope, now there is some.

I seem to be hearing and reading about that a lot lately. That the area in question is tiny does not seem to matter because where there was previously no hope, now there is some.

That's usually the case. Baltimore, Detroit, and all these other places no one cares about only make the news when they riot. As long as they keep it within the confines of the city, it's all good.

When I went to visit my in-laws in Windsor, Ont. back in May, I noticed more activity than usuall from the folks across the river in Detroit. I've read a few stories and heard from folks in the area that Detroit is slowly starting to comeback.

Slowly is the operative word. There does seem to be some activity along the riverfront and the downtown area (Woodward Ave., and Wayne State area), but the outer areas East and West still need a lot of work. I will say it is nice to see at least a little work.
