I have a question regarding the Family name on the AOS form (I485). My wife plans on keeping her last name and just adding my last name to hers. On the I485 form under family name, should I use both our last names, just her last name, or just my last name, or what?

Does anybody know?

Jason

I don't know exactly but this little bit might help. When I went for my AOS interview, the USCIS officer confirmed that my last name was tied to my declared name on my marriage certificate. When applying for our marriage license, I had chosen my husband's last name. So the USCIS officer confirmed that my I485 matched my marriage certificate.

You will use her married name on all AOS forms. If her married name is using both last names, then that is the name she will use on the AOS forms.

You list whatever name she will legally use from now on since getting married. If that is hers and yours both now, then is what you put. The RD/AP and green card will come in the names you use on the forms. List only her maiden name on the questions that ask for maiden name/other names used/name exactly as is on I-94, etc.
