Interview schedule

Hello!! I have already paid my K1 visa fee,submitted my ds 160 online, mailed my packet 3, registererd in the www.ustraveldocs.com/hk. Filled up the necessary information there. Now when I wanted to schedule an appointment for my interview it shows "there are currently no appointments available"..what does that mean? Am I the only one experiencing this? Does this have to do with the U.S. Consulate General of Hong Kong having a system upgrade. Please help ...Thank you

It simply means you are waiting for a visa number to be available

there are only a certain number given out each year and they are divided into the 4 quarters. You are now at end of 3rd quarter and need to keep calling to be included in 4th quarter which starts September 1st.

Also they are experiencing systems shut down (all embassies are) Systems upgrade is due to government hacking. at times all embassies were down (2 weeks ago for example)

You have heard one the news probably that the government was hit by a hacker. they crashed the computers trying to prevent information leaks

Did you receive a notice to call embassy for an appointment?

Did NVC say case was sent to the embassy?

When I visited the US.Consulate General of Hong Kong website a notice was posted on the page. And it says about police investigating about telephone deception cases. Scammers have been contacting applicants and identify themselves as from the embassy. That's a scary thing.

No I haven't been contacted by anyone claiming to be from the embassy though. I was actually expecting a nail from them.
