Hi, sorry if this has been addressed before but I didn't see it. I am just fore looking for information as to what will come in time. My wife arrived here under K1. After she gets her citizenship in time, I know she would like to have her parents come here some time down the road. My question is how hard is it for them to be able to immigrate here? Interviews as she had for her visa or is it simplier for them? I would like her to have some idea so she wont get to excited and then let down if it doesnt work out. No sweat on my part, have plenty of room in our home for them for a while. And yes, this is still a ways away. Thanks.

It's actually not hard at all as long as you have the proper evidence and documents in order. The IR-5 category doesn't have any numerical limitations either so you won't have to wait for a visa number to become available. In 2014, they issued about 64,000 visas for parents of USC and that's about 35% of all the immediate relative visas issued.

Not that difficult, esp if you have clear evidence they are her biological parents (birth cert).

The main potential issue we see here is that if they are elderly, the CO at the embassy may ask not jsut for the normal 125% poverty level for the affidavit of support, but also for proof that you can pay any medical expenses.

Do they want to immigrate or visit?

Wait until the option arises and see what the deal is.
