Hello Everyone,

I am using my OPT working now. The OPT will expire on August 12th whlie i am applying for status of change due to marriage. I am wondering that if i am able to work before i get my working permit.

Did you apply aos? If yes you can have your aos EAD expedited so you don't have a break at your work. Reason is pending job. Please ask your work to issue you a formal letter stating your contract, position and you need an EAD to continue your job. You can do it now by scheduling an info pass. Good luck.

Try to expedite your EAD.

When your OPT expires, you will need another form of work authorization to work. You need the EAD to work after August 12.

I am having exact same situation, first you will have to maintain your legal immigrant status, whichever you can got like F-1. While this time you could wait your I-485 related EAD arrive. Otherwise you will not to work and might affect your Adjust of Status.
