Hi All,

I am a Srilankan, who resides in India with the valid Overseas Citizenship of Indian status. AS per the below NVC guidelines I got the PCC from District Police Station of Chennai.

Obtain Indian Police Clearance Certificates as follows:
- All Indian nationals aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police clearance certificates from the Regional Passport Office.
- Indian passport holders residing outside India should obtain a statement from their local Indian Embassy, Consulate, High Commission, or Deputy High Commission confirming they have no criminal record.
- Non-Indian applicants who reside in India and are Foreigner Regional Registration Ovvice (FRRO) registered should obtain police certificates from the FRRO serving their area of residence.
- Non-Indian applicants who reside in India and are not FRRO registered, such as foreigners holding Overseas Citizen of Indian status, should obtain police clearance certificates from the District Police Station serving their area of residence.
- Indian police certificates are not available for foreign (non-Indian) applicants residing outside India.

But NVC sent me checklist for PCC. I requested for supervisor review, each time I call they say supervisor requested your file and its under review.

Can any of you suggest me what I should do? Its almost 14days. Does it take such long for them to get my file and check it?

Is it better if I send a detailed letter with the documents attached again? I am so depressed. Please help me, guide me.. pray for me..

My case is completed on 29th July, after 16days wait under supervisor review. We need to clearly mention in the cover letter, if we are sending any alternate document. NVC document reviewers are used to one type of documents.

Hi There

I had similar problem like you. I am nepali citizen living in India. I chased Indian PCC for months and finally i was able to get one from FRRO. If you read my other post you will get to see the pain i had to deal with.

Even when i got the PCC from FRRO NVC issued checklist. However, i wrote the detailed letter about how i was unable to get PCC from local police station / passport office. Post that letter and copy of my PCC declined by Delhi Police (Stating i was Nepali citizen) along with my PCC from FRRO.. NVC has completed our case and we are currently waiting for interview date.

Hope this helps you. Best wishes
