If at the USCIS, my petition is expedited -- do I have to request an expedite at each step after that (NVC, embassy, etc) or does the expedite carry forward?

Once I receive a notice that USCIS is sending it to NVC, what is the next step? My overseas spouse will receive something?

What is the best way to request an expedite at the NVC before receiving any correspondence from them?

Whatever you do, I'm not sure that you want to do what I did. My case made it through USCIS I guess quickly according to others. My case is now at NVC and after submitting all docs to NVC I requested and expedite. I guess they then reach out to the Consulate where the case will be sent for interview and they decide there if they will expedite. So The Consulate in Nigeria agreed to expedite my husband's case after we submit all docs and pay all fees to NVC.. so I'm still at NVC waiting for them to review the docs and once they finish, to my understanding, the Consulate in Nigeria will then expedite scheduling the interview.

I was asking that they expedite everything. Guess I got half of the request so I'd suggest just based on my own situation, requesting the expedite at NVC as soon as you get your case number and so forth before you start submitting docs to them.
