You should've gotten your P4 by now. Try resending in P3. I got mine within 24 hours of each other.

I did my medical in the same office. When I got there I totally forgot my printout, and they 100% require it to even register you. I was fortunate enough that she let me email it to her on spot. I only brought my interview confirmation which wasn't good enough, they require seeing P4 to show you had permission for both.

Good to know! Hopefully I can manage to get P4 in time.

I followed your advice and tried re sending P3 (the CEAC says it is "READY"), but when I sent the P3 I got the same generic response I received last time. Did you ever receive the following response, or did you get an email saying it was "recorded" in the file:

Thank you for your message to the

Immigrant Visa (IV) unit

Please note that you may check the status of your visa application throught the online Visa Application Status system at<https://ceac.state.gov/ceac> https://ceac.state.gov/ceac .

I got the same response as you. It's just an auto generated one whenever they get an email. I never got anything about it being "Recorded." Just Make sure when you sent it you did put in a "Subject." For instance, for mine I labeled it "MTL########## - DS160 CEAC #A#########" so that they would know what it was.

If you're worried though, I'd send them a separate e-mail just saying you've sent in Packet 3 on the original date, and you're worried about the lack of response. It's always worth a shot! They get so many emails it's always possible it was overlooked.

Oh and just an FYI. You might want to wait on the medical... I scheduled mine before xmas in 2014, expecting to get an interview really soon after, and there was nothing available until almost the end of February. Your medical is good for 6 months for the interview.. But it's good for 1 year for the AOS process.. There's a good chance I'm going to have to get it done again because AOS takes about a year, which will make my medical expired.

That's just the general response. If they're ignoring your email for some reason, try using this site and ask about your packet 3: http://canada.usembassy.gov/contact/public-inquiry-form.html

If they have not logged your packet 3 into the system then they will simply look at your email subject, type in the case number and if it's not logged they'll ignore the email with no follow up. As another said, they recieved their packet 4 email back within 24 hours, we received ours within 7 hours.

What you should receive should look something like this.

Dear <LAST NAME> <FIRST> <MIDDLE>:

This office has completed the review of the below-referenced immigrant visa case. You are now ready for an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal, where all interviews for immigration to the US from Canada are processed. This letter provides information on the next steps you must take to continue with your immigrant visa case.

Schedule your visa interview appointment

Please visit http://canada.usvisa-info.com to obtain information online or via telephone concerning scheduling an interview appointment for you and those family members included in the petition. You must have the Passport Number, Date of Birth, Nationality, MTL case number, and visa category for each applicant (principal applicant and all family members, including children) ready in order to access the website. When prompted to select “Trip Purpose”, you must choose ‘Permanently Immigrate to the US.’ After entering your information, you will be prompted to select an appointment time for you and your family.

Fees

If you have previously paid all fees due to the National Visa Center, there will be no additional fees to pay on the day of the interview. If you have not paid fees at the National Visa Center, please be prepared to pay the following fees on the day of your interview.

SIV cases: $205.00 US.

DV cases: $330.00 US for each applicant.

K (fiancé/e) visas: $265.00 US, paid in cash only.

All fees may be paid in US dollars or the Canadian dollar equivalent. We accept cash and credit cards only.

Please note if a person is found ineligible to receive a visa, the application fee cannot be refunded.

Medical exam

Each intending immigrant, regardless of age, is required to have a medical examination, and submit the results on the day of the interview. To schedule a medical examination, please visit http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3739.html and select Montreal as your case processing post at step 2.

IMPORTANT: ***please bring this letter and the appointment confirmation sheet you will receive from http://canada.usvisa-info.com/ to the panel physician medical appointment. ***

¾ Nail files and nail polish.

The following persons may accompany a visa applicant during his or her visit to the Consulate:

After the interview

If your visa application is approved, we will put your visa in your passport and send the completed visa packet and passport to you by Loomis courier at no extra charge.

You must travel to the United States and apply for admission as a permanent resident within the visa’s validity period. If you currently reside in the U.S, on a non-immigrant visa, you may be able to pick up your passport with visa and visa packet in the afternoon of the next business day after your interview. Unless you need your passport for travel, you may return to your address in Canada on the day of your interview.

Do not make any travel arrangements to move to the United States, dispose of property or give up your job until a visa has been issued to you. A consular officer can make a decision regarding your visa application only after your formal application and all documents have been reviewed, and you have been personally interviewed by a consular officer.

Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to seeing you at your appointment.

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visa Unit

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS EMAIL, YOU DO NOT HAVE THE CORRECT ONE. DO NOT TRY TO COPY AND REPLACE INFO ON THIS E-MAIL BECAUSE THEY WILL KNOW IF THEY'VE ACTUALLY SENT IT TO YOU OR NOT.

This is really all the help I can give. -That- above is your Packet 4 email. If you recieve anything else, it's not the email you're looking for. I highly recommend waiting a few more days for them to process it. It took them 9 days to process our case after recieving it from the NVC (Sent June 30th recieved by MTL July 7th), your case was only recieved 8 days ago. Make sure you have your dates right, it takes three days to a week to recieve it from the NVC, according to your own time frame that means Montreal wouldn't even have recieved it until the 24th which is the day you sent in Packet 3. They most likely will not log it until August 3rd (since the 1st and the 2nd are a monday). Receiving does not mean logged.

Again, if you're unsure if it's even logged then wait for the snail mail letter or contact them here: http://canada.usembassy.gov/contact/public-inquiry-form.html

I reccomend contacting them over waiting, we recieved our letters from the consulate today, 12 days after packet 3 was logged.

I guess I just need to be patient (Im sure you can relate how eager I am to have this all done).

I sent a message to the inquiry site yesterday, hope I hear from them sooner than later.

Again, thanks!

Oh man, now I'm having a panic attack.

My medical is next week and my interview is August 24. When I check the CEAC site for my status, I'm not getting this READY thing you all are getting. Mine still says NO STATUS. Is this a problem??

I'm nearly at the end of my rope with all this. :(

From the info in your signature I see that you received your Packet 4, in that case, I would not be worried if I were you. I noticed CEAC was not always updated immediately. I called the NVC and they told me that my materials were shipped off to MTL on July 20, but CEAC continued to say they were at the NVC until July 24.

according to this website : http://blogs.usembassy.gov/malaysia/check-the-status-of-your-visa-online-ceac-status-check/ :

"No Status:

If you have submitted your online nonimmigrant visa application (DS-160), it has not yet been processed into the visa system. At some locations, your application will remain in this status until you appear for an interview or until your application is ready for review. Please see the embassy or consulate’s website for information on the next steps required for visa processing. "

I reccomend contacting them over waiting, we recieved our letters from the consulate today, 12 days after packet 3 was logged

Hi guys.

Awesome! And yeah if they actually have your Packet 3 logged, they get back to you pretty quick.

If you're using Ian Zatzman for medical it may take a few days for them to get back to you. They emailed my fiance asking when his interview was schedule for, then after he emailed him back they told him the days available, and then finally today he got his appointment scheduled. The earliest they had as of Monday were the week of August 16th.

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let you know I received my Packet 4 today.

Looks like I had accidentally selected the Ottawa consulate instead of Montreal. So I might even have received it earlier than today had I not needed to resubmit my DS-160.

Anyways, the great news is I can make my Medical on Monday.

Thanks for all the help!
