Stolen green card

I very stupidly forgot my purse on top of the truck today and drove off.

It flew off the side of the road. I noticed a few moments later and someone had grabbed it and was driving away. Awesome.

Now I have no green card, no driver's license, no credit/debit cards, no ID. Thankfully I have my passport, my american social security card and the last letter from the USCIS dated 11/2014 saying Welcome to the USA!

I'm trying to make an appointment through Infopass to go get my passport stamped with a temporary I-551 while the I-90 for replacement goes through. However, the system is not letting me make an appointment for anything but an order from immigration court, case processing appointment, EAD inquiry over 90 days and F/U appointments.

How does one get an I-551?! Thank you.

We got our 551 stamps during the I90 process by making an InfoPass appointment. As the I90 takes about 9 months make sure to ask for a 9 or 12 month stamp. Our first was only for 6 months necessitating a second visit.

is the local office within a 30 minute drive from you ? Yes? No? If Yes,

I suggest going in,

sweet-talking the security guards, showing them the police report and begging to be let in, asking them to check in with the floor supervisor about your entry for an emergency visit.

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !

The closest office is about 90 minutes away, though I'll give it a try. I'm not sure how you're supposed to ever get an I-551 if you can't schedule an appointment for it in InfoPass. Hopefully the guards are understanding.

it's all down to the guards, for an emergency meeting, and how successful you are in begging and pleading with the guards to contact the shift supervisor and get the verbal permission to let you in. it's not for the timid or faint-of-heart.
