Another stumble at CFO.

Chinook went to Manila early and got her CFO sticker at the CFO's main office. We figured, why take a chance at NAIA? If the guy at NAIA wouldn't have shown up for some reason, Chinook would have been SOL. Chinook enjoyed Manila with her mother and sister.

Not wanting to risk another issue so close to the end game and because my asawa will be traveling to Manila several times for other reasons, she wants to complete the CFO sticker stuff before arriving at NAIA. We both don't feel comfortable leaving that part of the puzzle in the hands a Phil Gvt. employee only 2-3 hrs before boarding the flight home.

Hell No. I wouldn't roll the bones on something like that. You know the what will happen if you wait, All of a sudden the person who bgives out the stamps will be out of stock, or on a 2 hour lunch break and no one else can give out a sticker, or they may have a brown out, or as you may well know they are having a holiday that day (I have never seen a country celebrate more holidays in my life).

She attended the seminar before her USEM interview or visa issuance? Either she's lucky or she know somebody "inside." Here are some of the requirements for PDOS:

Requirements for Registration

  1. Original and photocopy of passport (must be valid about six months before date of travel)
  2. Original and photocopy of visa
  3. One (1) 2x2 or passport-size photograph
  4. One (1) valid identification card with photograph (eg., SSS ID, GSIS E-card, PRC ID, driver's license, postal ID, ARC, etc.)
  5. Photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for USA-bound emigrant (must not be detached from visa packet)

Thus, it makes me wonder how she was able to attend the PDOS.

I was done PDOS last year May 22,2014, because CFO certificate is one of the requirement in filling for passport if already married to a foreign person, I only gave them my marriage certificate and a valid ID, I think when i go back to CFO next month for sticker stamp, that you said requirements will be needed. so if already married to a US citizen you can undergo PDOS without passport and visa. :)

You got your USCIS approval on July 23. In a couple of weeks, start calling the NVC every day until they give you your MNL case number. Then you can move forward and schedule the interview and complete the medical.

Wow. No one trusts the CFO at NAIA. Their instructions are to call 2-3 days ahead to make an appointment. The day of travel call ahead to confirm. Then go and get your sticker. Never heard anyone say they had a problem. Everyone reported back that they had success.

Going to the CFO Manila you might get hit by a trike and never make it there for your sticker. Then, your seeing a Dr. and the next thing you know you missed your flight. Stuff, happens each way.

It's the Philippines the people are conditioned there.

Fall in Line, Don't ask questions, Never question anybody in authority............

There are things I love about Filipino culture. This is one of the things I lose patience with.

If they can't be trained out of this, then it is just a short-term service model, not a wife.

My wife did her CFO seminar last November, well before USEM interview or visa being issued. BTW this is for CR1 FWIW. So she had extra time the day before her daughter's USEM interview for CR2 visa and stopped by CFO to get the actual 'stamp' on her visa.

Sorry maam the lady that did your seminar is not here today so you will come back another day, OK maam?

What a f'd up system. Sorry for the military language. Always something isn't there.

It really is one F$%^@ up system. I'm sure your wife got the certificate upon completing the seminar. Why would the interviewer has to be there to get the sticker???

Yes you can complete PDOS prior to receiving your visa. Once you have your visa in your hands then return to CFO and get the sticker placed in your passport.
