Hi guys,

just quick introduction to all, I'm Vhista from Indonesia, and I meet my BF in dating website on Feb 2015. Get along very well and we are commit to start long distance relationship. This July 10th, he is travel from Nebraska to Sulawesi Island, Indonesia to visit me and my family, and spent 10 days with me (can't talk about that, few pages won't be enough :luv: ) :ot2: and right now its my turn to visit him and his family. I was planning to visit him this Christmas, around mid of December till 1st week of January.

I was do research on internet and asking people, colleagues, friends and even stranger around, that ever applying VISA to USA before, about how big is the possibility to get accepted if I applying B2 VISA to USA with my BF sponsor, and it melt me down because a lot of them is not get approve and when I asking what's wrong, they all say, that they also didn't know :bonk: . Based from their story and internet, it was very random for VISA approval in my country and mostly for people with my age, it won't get approve because they think I'll stay there and won't come back to Indonesia (which I finally realized it's not only in my country after read article in VJ).

So guys, we need your help :help: , especially if you are from Indonesia and ever do this before. I plan to schedule my interview on end of September and here is the document that I'll prepared for it beside the mandatory doc;

- Itinerary of the trip

- Booking confirmation of the flight ticket

- Invitation letter from my BF which mention he will be my sponsor

- My employment verification letter which mention about my status in my company and stated that I'll be back to work after the trip

- 3 months payslip

- Evidence of my relationship; Photo, Chat log; Facebook, Skype, WA, boarding pass and ticket

My question is, do you think any more document (beside the mandatory) that I should add and what document my BF can provide from himself to bring on interview day?

And for Indonesian member, based from your experience, which one have more bigger chance to get approve, do interview in USA Jakarta Embassy, or USA Surabaya Consulate?

That's it.. If anything I miss and you guys want to add, please do it..

Thank you

Do not book a ticket without having a visa.

Much better that you show you can fund the trip yourself.

Welcome to the forum.

You will have to prove to the satisfaction of the US consular official at the interviewing US embassy/consulate, that you have significant ties to Indonesia such that you would return to Indonesia after their US visit is completed. Such ties could include, property, house ownership, current stable employment, etc. Each visitor visa applicant is presumed to have immigration intent, and must prove that they are not trying to immigrate to the US. A letter from a doctor, any documents from your BF, or any other invitation-type letter would likely have no positive effect on the visitor visa approval.

Good luck.

No sponsorship is required for a visitor visa. As stated previously you must prove your strong ties to home. Showing that you can afford the trip yourself is also helpful. An employer letter is helpful as well as proof of your own finances.

The relationship evidence may well work against you. That shows a reason for you to stay in the US past the expiration of your visa.

You have stacked your evidence with ties to the U.S. Your USC boyfriend and your relationship as well as your tickets already purchased show why you want to go to the US. You'll want to really focus on what you have in Indonesia and forego all the evidence about your boyfriend, his sponsorship, and your relationship.

What else do you have?

good luck

Edit to add - the reason for the high denial rate is because you are coming from a country where historically poor, single, young women go to the US and forget to return.

If you are committed as you say, why not have him apply for K1 finance visa and marry here?

Can you really apply now for Tourist visa and have an interview and visa by December?

Hi Vhista, I am from Sulawesi Island, South Sulawesi, to be exact.

I applied B-2 visa back in 2010 and got denied based on because I had an American boyfriend - my now husband-. There is not specific things you have to submitted. I submitted a letter from work - I worked in Kompas Gramedia Group-, bank statements, credit cards statements, a land certificate.

The result? I got denied because my point of entry was my boyfriend. My advice, don't buy a ticket until you got approval. Itinerary won't guarantee you will going back to Indonesia and convince the CO at US embassy in Jakarta to approved B-2 visa. There were many people bought round trip tickets and they never going back to their home country again.

Just added. I had my interview done in Jakarta. Some people said, U.S. Embassy in Jakarta is more harsh rather than U.S. Consulate In Surabaya.

Hi Boiler, Thank you for your suggestion, right now, me and my BF also his family is discussing about this issue. I'll update once I make a decision. For the booking conformation, I'm using my corporate travel agent from the company, so I can just book the ticket first without issue :) Thank you.

Hi Pitaya, Anh Map, Kieren HBY and Canadian_wife,

Thank you all for your guidance. I realized about that when I read about people story which have same case with us. Financial wise, I can fund the whole trip by myself and legally I can't leave my job here because I was under the contract with my company. The reason why I want to go apply VISA with BF sponsor is because we are intent to get married next year, and I'm scare if I apply B2 visa with reason only for travelling, and then next year I apply for K1 or CR visa it will get rejected because they'll think I lie on the first place. Please advise?

ps;

@all, for booking confirmation, I'm using my corporate travel agent from the company, so I can just book the ticket without issue first.

@Kieren HBY, boarding pass that I mention is my BF boarding pass when he visit me in Indonesia

@Canadian_wife, beside that I have owned few asset, I'll add this also in my document to bring later

Thank you guys..

Can you really apply now for Tourist visa and have an interview and visa by December?

Hi Adil & Jeanne, the reason is because, even we are commited to each other but both of us came from big family background and the situation is, I never meet his family, only know them by social media. And we and our family think is not a wise idea to get married if both of us not meet our family first. Beside, I need to know how is the situation to move there before really moving after married. And I'm not planning to married there, but in Indonesia.

I'm not apply the VISA yet. Still collecting information and advise. Will apply around September. December is when I plan to visit my BF.

Thank you

Halo ka, salam kenal ya, I'm from Center Sulawesi, Luwuk Banggai..

Ka, we are plan to get married next year, that is why I want to use my BF sposor to apply B2 because later after married and want to apply CR or K1, they won't think I lie in the first place with saying I'm going to USA for jalan-jalan and not to meet my BF and family. For ticket, I'm using our corporate travel agent from company so can book without issue first, and I just want to bring it so at least they know that I will come back to Indonesia.

Ka, kalo saya boleh minta saran, baiknya kaya gimana ya? Kita rencana mo nikah nanti tahun depan sekitaran akhir tahun.

Thank you ka..

I don't know what you consider sponsor, but as in filling out a Affidavit of Support, Not gonna happen

As far writing a letter saying he will take care of your finances, it's a waste of time
