The background is I already have the Consulate interview scheduled on early Aug.

Today I received the NVC letter notifying me that they forwarded my case to US consulate CHINA, blah blah. And I found the letter has my name wrong.

What shall I do? Contact the Consulate to make sure everything is all right or just do nothing?

Was it just mispelled? You can fix and verify that at the embassy to ensure the visa is correct. Ours was mispelled and didn't do a thing about it until the embassy and had no issues. If it is actually wrong how is it wrong? Completely as in someones else name or they switch first and last name or something to that effect.

Actually I am the petitioner. They got my name wrong. There is one more letter after my first letter.

How about yours? How did you fix it?

thanks!

I really would not sweat it as they have a copy of either your birth certificate or passport or both depending on what you put in the petition, The NVC letters are typed by humans and fat-finger like we all do. My fiancee just mentioned it to them when she was there, but they already had it correct in the system.....It was only on the NVC letter at any point in the process where it was wrong.

Just have your fiancee mention it during the interview that the NVC letter was spelled wrong, your documents previously submitted and the DS-160 would all have everything right.

Thank you very much for your info!

I was worried that there are other materials that NVC sent to Consulate on which my name is also wrong. But as you said, it seems not a big problem.

thanks again!
