Hi guys.

I'm a student selected for one semester cultural exchange program by USEFP and the program is being sponsored by IREX. I had my j1 visa interview on 7th of July in Islamabad and I was put under administrative processing. On the website, the updated date was 7th july 2015. But today the status updated date was changed to 22 july 2015, but status is still Administrative Processing. What does this statis update mean? Is it a positive omen that my case is under review? Any help or guidance will be much appreciated.

I applied for a J1 visa at the Guadalajara American Consulate on august 10th 2015. I was informed my case would be placed under administrative processing. I was asked for additional documents and I sent those on august 13th 2015. I was born in Cuba, buy I've been living out of the country the last 16 years. Is there someone in this situation?. I should be at the USA on August 3rd but my case is still under administrative processing and there are not updates since the interview.
