For N-400, does early filing apply to physical presence?

Hello Everyone,

I am a legal permanent resident here in the United States since 2004. For the last five years though, I have been out of the country for my undergrad (to avoid student loans and all that good stuff), only coming back every couple of years to get a re-entry permit. Now that I'm done with my studies, I'm back here in the US and would like to apply for naturalization as soon as possible.

I read about the 90-day early filing allowance for the N-400. One can apparently file the N-400 90 days before reaching the anniversary of the 3-/5-year residency requirement. Having already met the residency requirement, I was wondering if the 90-day early filing also applied to the 913-day physical presence requirement; whether filing on day 824 was ok instead of on day 914.

Thanks in advance!
