Does the officer just stamp it in ur passport and then u check it online later? Would like to know more info about the port of entry process too pls

They scan your passport and then stamp your passport and enter the date of entry, visa type, and length of authorized stay. You then can go to the CBP website to get the I-94 if you need it for any reason. The link explains the new automated I-94 process--have a read.
