I am really confused here. Seems like I am missing something and if I am, I think I am going to die.

We received the NOA1 RECEIPT on May 8th. Were we supposed to receive something else after that or are we just now waiting to hear back from the NVC that they have approved us in about 5-6 months from May 8th? Seems like some people are talking all this activity AFTER the NOA1 receipt which I have not seen, as I was just waiting to hear from the NVC. I guess what I am asking is, HOW did you guys find out if your paperwork was received at the NVC? I've just been going on "faith" that they received it.

Yeah you should get noa2 from uscis about 5-6 months from May 8th.

Uscis then send the case to NVC.

A few weeks after noa2 you can call NVC to get the case number, or as in my case they may mail it to you

Ok, just before seeing your reply, I hunted around and found a number to call the USCIS. You see, what threw me was seeing some people getting NOA2 WITHIN weeks or days of their NOA1 so I thought I was missing something. What I found out that NOA2 could simply mean when they received the initial paperwork, something was missing and a request (NOA2 or Notice of Action 2) had to take place. I just found out that our NOA2 will be when the USCIS passes it on the NVC so, I was not losing my mind. lol

It seems so, but we're hoping we can navigate through it all and get to where we need to be. One thing I will say here is, the stories here are amazing and distance, as much as we all hate it, seems to sharpen us and fine tune our love for our other half. We have so much credit to give to technology which has replaced weekly or monthly letters with nest second e-mails, private messages and so on to keep the flame going. yes, there are frauds out there, but for the most part, the people here seem to be stridently in love. Would be kind of cool if the UCIS and NVC read some of our stories. :-)
