One way ticket with son who has dual citizenship

Hi, I am US citizen who has been living out of the country for a few years. My husband and I are currently undergoing the K3 visa process that should be finished soon. I am going to be returning to the US in a few months for a job and will be traveling with our small son who has dual citizenship. Typically I get a notarized letter of permission from my husband to make the trip for my son, but normally it's a round trip. This time I am going one-way while we wait for my husband in the states. Has anyone done this, or know if there is anymore I need to do in relation to the travel permission letter. Will I have any issues since we do not have a return date?
