Machine Readable Passports (MRP) required for Afghanistan

Hello all,

I just wanted to post that beginning November 2015 (I think on the 25th) the old, handwritten passports issued by Afghanistan will be invalid and no longer acceptable for international travel. Afghan missions and the MOIA (Ministry of Interior Affairs) are issuing machine readable passports (MRP) and if you are in the process of getting a visa, you may want to look into getting and MRP before your interview. I would expect that requests for MRP's will increase and might even backlog around the time the old passports will be invalid.

I think this is also similar for Pakistanis. Be prepared and think ahead for your own situation! Cheers!
