in your case should be even easier.

like you said, you studied in the same university, you have a lot of pictures, you have your diploma...

there should be more than enough proofs about your relationship :)

thank you for your answer, i'm a little worried that this is not enough as I do not have airline ticket.

do you know that having a sponsor is enough? because I didn't pay tax in these years, as I was not in US

You have plenty of documents to prove your relationship. Also copy of your admission stamps in your passport can be useful. Good luck!!!

Just show proof you been in her country all this time with her,

bank & other transactions while there , doctors visit, letter from job

( if U work there)...all documents MUST be translated (professionally)

to English...your co-sponsor will need to sign affidavit & produce tax

returns for you to show

I was studying here and I can get some letter from my university. and also I have doctor visit receipt or bank doc,

thank you for your help.

If my co-sponsor sign affidavit and produce tax return for me every thing is okay? and as I didn't pay tax, there is no problem?

I think my co sponsor should sign affidavit after NOA2, is it correct?

hello everybody,

I want to apply for k-1 visa for my fiancee. but I have a problem.

its a long time that I am leaving outside the US in the same country of my fiance. and now I'm coming back to US and I want to apply for my fiance for k-1 via, to get married in US. for proving that we see each other last two year, I do not have airline ticket or other these kinds of prove documents. now I don't know how to prove that we see each other and it's a long time we are in the same place. would you please help me what should I do and how should I prove?

I was in the same case. Pictures together, an explanation letter, and the passport stamps...but mainly the pictures. Because they ask for your fiance's passport copy anyway so they can see the stamps and the explanation letter about how you met as well. For our case, I think we added her departure flight ticket when she left my country. If you are still there, you can print your arrival flight ticket...and like 10 pictures together, write on the back the date of each and details about the pic...we got approved in 3 months

They will ask you to write a letter statint why you never paid taxes, as they asked my wife. But you dont have to put that for the k-1 petition. They will ask for it when you get approved and when your fiance starts the consulate steps in his country. Your co sponsor has to send the affidavit of support signed and taxes to your fiance. You have to sign an affidavit of support too as the primary sponsor even if you don't have any incomes. it's not going to be a problem, my wife was like you, her dad was my sponsor and that's what we did. There is no problem if you didn't pay taxes. But send the K-1 petition to the USCIS first, wait for the approval and then the story about the affidavit and taxes will begin with the consulate. Don't worry about that, you will be good as long as you have a co sponsor.

You will be needing to write your addresses that you've been living, and plus you will have prove of that, any mail, university information record.. And I guess about having a co-sponsor will be the best, even that I'm not sure of it though..

Maryab,

From what I have read above, I believe your concern is how to prove you have met within two years, Do you have your exit stamp on your Iranian passport or the receipt for your exit fees? both of these will prove you were in Iran to be able to have met your fiance. They of course will need to be translated. I am not sure where to translate Farsi to English in the US, I have done this though at my local university where an Iranian professor translated and had information notarized. If you are more comfortable communicating in Farsi, please PM me and my I can have my wife help. She came the the US a little more than 2 years ago on a K-1 visa.

You stated that you both attended the same university. If that is the case, you would both probably have transcripts from the university. The dates on both transcripts would coincide, so the USCIS could see that you attended the same university at the same time. That might be helpful to submit if you are worried about having enough information that you've seen each other in the last two years.

If you were living in the same country the burden of proof is actually easier than living outside of the country so don't worry. Show things like stamps in your passport, a resident permit, utility bills with your address on it, receipts, apartment contracts, job letters etc.

My fiancé and I lived in the same country as well and in our packet we sent hotel receipts, credit card statements, the work permit in his passport, utility bills showing his name and address and a copy of his official military orders.

thank a lot. would you please explain more about your situation and other things that you give them to prove. we have been dating for 4 years and we have a lot of picture. but we do not have apartment contract or utility bills. but we have joint account, does it work? what else can I use to prove that we saw each other?

we were studying in the same university, does it work? or airline ticket to a trip with each other?

what did you do for affidavit of support? having a US citizen sponsor is enough? did your fiancee paid tax?

thanks a lot for your help

Sorry missed your reply.

We had lived together for 6 years before applying so we have three different apartment rental contracts, multiple utility bills and our visas for Canada showing we had moved there for two years with me as a dependent, which you can do without marrying. We had airline tickets for a holiday flight, plus invitations to the 9/11 memorial that we visited together as you had to have your name on the invites and both showed the same request number. I kind of went overboard due to issues with a Canada visa application misunderstanding years ago that made me overly cautious when it came to visa applications.

My husband has always filed his taxes since he was 18, each year even though he would not owe anything. As he already had an offer of employment that met the minimum we did not need a sponsor which is good as none of his family live in the U.S. and we don't know anyone that could have been a sponsor. My husband was offered the job in June and went in August so he had moved to the U.S. before my interview.

From a previous post I thought you had the rental agreements. Your transcripts and other documents to show you both lived in the same city should be backed up with photographic evidence of you being in the same place. i think some people have used receipts from purchasing things in the same shop within a few minutes of each other due to issues with photos.
