So im new to this hi guys!!! My fiance and I applied for the k1 march 28 2015 the california service center began processing our case on April 8th 2015, we recieved our NOA1 on April 12th 2015 (it was dated as April 10th 2015 we just recieved it in the mail a few days later) we then recieved an RFE update for May 23rd 2015 due to our work schedules Im a manager out in NY he helps run a business in the Dominican Republic and with the wait to time of processing for the documents we had to colect I sent the RFE about a month later. They recieved it and began processing my case again on July 8th 2015. My question for those of you who have gone through this is what comes next? And how much time will pass before a new update. We are doing this on our own so Im confused as to if Im waiting for a reply of RFE or an NOA2 Im utterly lost and confused, as with no lawyer help (two years ago we had hired a fraudulent lawyer who gave us false documents and stole all of our money when we assumed we had a case, he disappeared and through our own investigation we found out there was never a k1 fiance visa so we decided to wait a few months and do it again but this time on our own) any info would be awesome any advice i would be so grateful. My fiance is from and resides in the dominican republic, so anyone from there please give us any advice we are going absolutely crazy from the stress!!!

How do you know they began processing your response to the RFE on July 8th? What azucarmorena said is correct. If they are satisfied with your response to the RFE, they will approve the case, send you a notice and send the case to the NVC. Click on the wiki tab at the top of this page and then find the K1 wiki. Read it a few times lol That will give you a better idea of what to expect. I also suggest going to the Embassy's website. There is info on processes there too. Good Luck!!! Sounds like you should have an approval very soon! :)

Apparently I hadn't put the dates on the picture in the order they wanted it in-i had just done the album and sent them dated in month day year format but they ask for day month year (the person who helped us file the initial package said none of this to me ? waste of money much but I only used her for that) they also asked for an intent to marry which is stated in the lette we each wrote stating how we met but they asked for a seperate intent to marry. I took advantage and sent anything else I thought would help we would write each other letters for every day we were apart he has dozens of notebooks from me and I have a box full of his letters and so i sent some of those.

The intent to marry was honestly a pain in the ### since notary in the dominican republic want to act as lawyers and try to bribe you into things I just had to be plain straight forward with my fiance I let him do things his way and of course it was stopped before it started (the notary he went to was asking for my passport number like um no why?) so it took a while to find a serious place to just do what we were asking

From what I understood i thought it isnt necessary but that they would prefer it to be notarized i think they asked for it since the letters we would write to each other when we were younger our hand writing was slightly different (we were kids) but my brother in law didnt have his notarized and my sister put very little evidence since she only saw him twice in a 4 year span and he got approved so maybe it will happen for you too every case is different!!!

Hey everyone! I checked on my application online this morning and it says they sent out an RFE on January 28th 2016. So just three days ago. Obviously I don't know what the RFE is for but should I be worried? It seems as if it's mainly small mistakes that are easy to fix from what I've read about other RFE's. Our K1 visa is being processed in California and I've read that usually it gets approved after 10 days after receiving the RFE.

This isnt an old blog i check it constantly in case someone does come through..as for RFE dont be worried it isnt necessarily about mistakes its more about them giving you the opportunity to add things if youve forgotten them. After my k1 visa process for my fiance i have begun taking courses to get licensed as the topic is something im familiar with (2 of my sisters and myself have done k1 fiance visa another sister a k3) Itll ask you for anything you havent sent them that they usually look for i.e pictures with dates and names you want to make sure they are actual photos not copy paper ive seen many people make that mistake, i didnt make a photo album i just sent the pictures with labels in the front and laminated them to protect them and that was it,my fiances intent to marry signed and notarized which the immigration officer we got at our interview applauded us on as it does add to the validity. When we got our RFE we also added silly things just to help with evidence we had a journal thing where id write him a letter each day until we were together again and he had to take me to buy me flowers for each one he cried about ?? dont be afraid to screenshot convos on your cellphone and print it out make sure the number is verifiable to your fiances number its so easy and not even a big deal i was the only one in my family with rfe and it was approved 9 days later and three months after that we were at our interview and visa approved! Just dont do the lovey dubey ridiculousness at your interview my fiance and i laughed at everyone else trying so hard to be cute and way too obvious and trust me the consulate is paying attention and they see-also excuse my lack of grammar im currently standing on a moving bus in nyc ?
