My ,man was finally approved after a year and a half. He traveled from Nigeria as soon as possiple. We confirmed our wedding dates with the church and hall a week after his arrival.

His Mother attempted to get a visa to attend the wedding. She completed the appliction, paid her fees and discovered instead of the week wait for the interview listed on the web site the first interview date available was over a month later, 2 days after our wedding date.

We filed a request for an emergency interview and it was denied.

We are herat broken that she will not be at our wedding.

We had to pay deposits for that date and others made flight plans to attend so changing the date will be next to impossible.

Does anyone have any suggestions on other options?

Thank you.

It would not be guaranteed she gets the visa, even if she could get a quick interview....

That being said, on the visa issue, the only thing I can recommend is to call the embassy and ask nicely that they call with any cancelations, and be sure mom can be ready within hours to go to the interview.

On the wedding issue- can you set up webcams and have her be "present" that way?
