/That's actually on the agenda. I'm pretty good with getting flowers though I make sure to do that regularly whether having them delivered if we are apart or getting them and hand delivering myself

Have many gifts for her when she arrives, Get her a new broom, new pots and pans, new vacuum cleaner, etc.

Once she is rested up go shopping and get her a rice cooker and show her around town, it always fun when they first arrive and you get to be tour guide..........

One step ahead of you, ordered rice cooker from amazon and has been delivered. I've been craving her adobo, sisig, pancit, and other delicacies. I have ordered the Philippine TV channel package to my cable account.

It will be fun exploring Chicago together as even though I've been living here,at the same time, I haven't, being over seas so long so we have a lot of exploring to do together as well as having my parents/family a short 2 hour drive over to Michigan.

Yeah I ordered TFC for my asawa like a week after she got here, and you should have seen her face. My wife was so happy at the time, and now the TV stays on TFC literally 90-95% of the time. Now they have English subtitles for shows, and I watch them more than I do actual American shows (I hate commercials).

When my wife was coming to US on POE,

I brought a small ice box in my car with things I know she likes

bottle of water, Starbucks coffee, some sweet snacks,and fruits (cherries and grapes).

Because after a long flight, I know she will be thirsty, hungry, and tired,

and if she can snack on few things she likes, it would hold her up

for few hours while we drive home, unpack, take shower, and then go out for dinner.

And it worked perfectly...

Unfortunately mine had her POE at Hawaii so I was not there to meet her. I was there bright and early for her arrival at 5am which she landed 15mins early. We went to breakfast before going home and getting her set up with the tv remote, situated in bed, and is probably still sleeping off the jet lag which I figured it'd hit at some point, either that or still on Philippine time which would be 2am instead of 1pm. Manila-Seoul-Honolulu-Chicago will take it's toll on even the most seasoned travelers. I'll be surprised if she wants to venture out after work which is fine. I'm planning a breakfast in bed for her tomorrow with her favorite American breakfast.
