Question about Affidavit of Support

Hey everyone,

We recently received our NOA2 and my fiance needs to prepare and send me her affidavit of support.

She is worried because her bank is giving her challenges issuing a letter. We have read some stuff on the forums that you don't need the letter, and that 3 years of tax returns are fine.

She makes above the minimum requirement, but she has only had her job for a year, so tax returns don't reflect it. Plus her bank statements don't look great because she is living paycheck to paycheck atm.

So what documentation should she provide?

Thanks for your help guys. Just want this stressful process to be over.

A few of her most recent W2s and/or letter of employment with sate she started, her income, permanent or temporary position, etc.

If she makes the minimum amount, she does not need to worry about providing information of her assets; therefore, bank info isn't needed.

Doesn't matter, current income is key.

Hi Friends,

So I'm getting my final documents together that my fiancé posted about above. I have my tax returns for last 3 years, W2's for my current jobs, letters from both of my employers and a print out of my savings bonds. Is this enough documentation?

Thanks all!

Also, I work for a franchised location of a cosmetology school. So my employer letter and affidavit form says what we publicly go by and my W-2 says our legal franchisee name. Do i need to have my employer re-do my letter saying they are "XYZ LLC/ dba ABC cosmetology school"?

Not all places even ask for 3 years worth, they just ask for the most recent tax return, a couple of pay stubs (to prove your current amount your making), and a letter from your employer. Bank statements are needed if you don't make enough or for back up for some reason, but generally K1 asks for most recent tax return, AOS asks for 3 years of tax returns.
