I wonder what Thomas Jefferson and the Founding Fathers would think about the country today. Would they be pleased with how things have progressed over the last 200+ years? Some things are much better, some haven't changed all that much. What would they think of what government has become? Would they be ready to declare independence from our government today?

They wouldn't agree with Homosexual Marriage

They wouldn't agree with freeing the slaves

They wouldn't agree with all the free medical and food and housing given to the lazy people in the USA.

But they probably would smile ear to ear knowing that USA is Two Time Back to Back World Champions in World Wars...........

That's nonsense. They would celebrate the expansion of freedom and liberty to groups that were previously deprived of the same. Unlike most political leaders (they don't even deserve that title) in America today, the founding fathers were indeed leaders and ahead of the time. They had great vision and courage. Much of today's crop is just corrupt, small minded and backwards oriented. That, I think, is what the founding fathers would be ashamed of.

When I wake up some mornings, screaming at the absurdities present in this country,

I have a singular point to eschew:

Jefferson would be massively torqued off to learn that dueling was outlawed.

It all stems from this one thing, IMO.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Except for the Second Ammendment, right MBD?

And they probably wouldn't approve of Obama.
