I really need some advice!!!

Today my husband just received an email from the London embassy that his interview is July 10th. We expedited our case due to me (USC) being pregnant with our first child who is due at the end of September. The problem with this is that he obviously doesn't have his medical scheduled yet and they are saying it takes close to two weeks for the results to be sent to the embassy. The other problem is that my husband's old doctor has managed to lose his shot record.

I have no idea what to do and I'm aware that they will deny the visa until the medical is received but is there anything else I should be worrying about? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Just reschedule his interview. Go to ustraveldocs, locate your country (click on it), register, and then do the rescheduling online. Dont forget to email this to him so he cant print the confirmation. He or you can do this.

I am following this thread. Our case has been expedited so we are just waiting to hear from the embassy now (not London though).

We could not find my husband's shot records & we know he has had them, so he went today to get them over.

Disregard my previous comment. My apology. It seems that it depends on which country or where you are. My bad. My son's case was also expedited and I was able to reschedule his interview online.

There are not that many shots your husband needs. They can test him to see what he needs and give him any that he is missing.

So can you get him in tomorrow? Even in Dubai it took only a week to get the medical results. I am not sure, but I would expect that they would let him do the interview and just "hold" the visa until they got the medical...but I think every embassy is different.

Let him ask his mum for the red book parents curry around. All his record will be in. Or ask gp for a blood test, to know what he is immune to.

Thank you everyone for your responses. We have asked his mother and unfortunately she doesn't know where it is or if she has it anymore. Probably because he was originally born in Australia and moved to the UK when he was 11. I will definitely look into rescheduling or having him just get the shots he needs at the medical. Again, I really appreciate everyone's advice, it has helped me calm down a lot.

We are going to try and schedule everything tomorrow though I doubt he'll be able to go in tomorrow since London is quite a ways from Nottingham. Oh well, I can only pray that it will all work out and I will keep people posted as to the results.

It takes 3-4 days for Knightsbridge (London) to send the results to the embassy. If the results aren't there by the interview, they will hold the passport and wait for them to arrive, then issue the visa. The childhood shot record is not critical. Get a Tdap and MMR anywhere (GP, Tesco's, medical exam) and tell them you had chickenpox for the varicella waiver. That will do it.

UK forum has active people who know specifics of London appointments and Knightsbridge clinic. Because each consulate is different, you may get answers that don't apply. It is not easy to pick a new appointment in London. You can't call them on the phone and take care of things.

If he can't get an appointment with a shot nurse or travel nurse at the GP, then find another place He doesn't necessarily have to see the doctor if it's just shots. Depends on his office policy. Some NHS offices will do the shots free. Some won't.

You know how drug stores and some grocery stores in the US have mini-clinics that give immunizations? Same in the UK. Not sure what he has nearby but suggestions are Tesco, Boots, Sainsbury's, ASDA. Or the clinc that gives his visa medical will do it for a fee.

There are four adult shots required for immigration:

Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis (Tdap)

Mumps/measles/rubella (MMR)

Influenza--waived for reason "not flu season".

Varicella-- waived in UK for "not routinely available" or if he tells them he had chickenpox as a child. The UK does not immunize for varicella so the shot is not easily found. That's good for a waiver. And because they don't immunize, most kids get chickenpox which makes you immune. They take your word for having chickenpox. Also a waiver.

He does not have to prove any baby shots he had. He only has to prove the four required adult shots, or have a reason for waiver. Two of four fit the waiver category.

I thought I was remembering my nursing school stuff correctly about the MMR being a series shot. He has his medical scheduled for Tuesday at 9:10 AM, thankfully they were able to get him in. I had never seen that form before so thank you for sharing it. I will pass all of this on to my husband (as I have been throughout the day anyway).

At least one shot (of a series) by medical day. Visas are not held up waiting out a time interval on immunizations.
