Green Card marriage interview

HI,

I would need some help about my interview.

I am in the process of getting the GC, we did everything on our own, without an attorney and all went well (so far), I have my interview for the 15th and well stressed (my husband is not at all). I am the "alien", he is American.

1- Can you tell me if we go together to the interview room? I have 2 different versions

2- do they ask you questions only in order to make sure the marriage is not a fraud or can they ask me about my life before my marriage and how I entered and when and why and how etc... the US?

3- what else did I forget?

Thanks a lot. I will probably need more precisions

I'm personally waiting on my GC interview as well.

But a friend of mine's husband just got approved. I believe they both went to the interview. She said it went really smoothly. They asked basic questions about her marriage. She said it didn't feel intense. Just basic relationship questions.

I've heard it's a good idea to bring things that have both your names on. Like bills, lease, bank statements etc. Anything that makes you both look legit.

Thanks Wilerao, I am sorry I forgot important information.

We are in Fort-Lauderdale, Oakland Park, precisely. We have read a lot of sample questions, but I want to be ready for some tricky onses.

We have photos, bills, all kind of proofs and... we are in our 70s!!!

Good luck, Michelle, we are in the same boat :)

Could you also tell me how long it takes to get the plastic after the interview?

Thanks again

Had mine at the U.S. embassy in London and literally the only things the officer asked me were:

How did you and your wife meet?

How did you maintain the relationship while I was in Cambridge? (Answer she moved with me)

Who is your joint sponsor?

Then she said I was approved. I think our case was pretty simple though tbh. I know that they a much more stringent in less developed parts of the world
