If you cannot call, then you would need to wait for a reply through email. If you don't want to wait, then head over there in person and ask if they can please reseal it for you because it arrived torn.

They denied me entry during the interview. I am so upset, this isn't our fault and I don't want to wait more than a few hours.

Why would they not let you in? Just tell them your fiance(e)'s visa packet arrived with a tear in it and you need to get it resealed. Go during the hours you posted earlier in this thread. Bring your fiance(e) with you and the passport containing the K-1 visa.

The security guard was quite unfriendly yelling at everyone. I tried to go during the interview but he woudln't even let me talk. I sent an email to the immigrant section but this may take 5 days for a response. Our lawyer said not to worry but I don't know. Another thing I looked at the website and the turkish and english translations during the FAQ section are different. In English it says to come monday through friday and in Turkish it only says monday and thursday. The security guard didn't know much English but I may show him a print out from the website. I am just concerned this will take so long

It is so unfair that our embassy won't let me speak to a real person on the phone and other embassies will. All we get is an operator who won't even let me ask a question before he transfers me to an automated menu that doesn't give me any useful information. I don't have time for this #######. I just want to go back home and bring my fiance with me and new issues just keep popping up.

Well you can risk it taking long and have it fixed or just ignore the problem and risk having issues at POE. You're the only one who can make that call. 3 options:

1. Email them a picture and ask their opinion

2. Go to the embassy and have it re-sealed (recommended as that tear is big enough for tampering with papers)

3. Do nothing and hope for the best.

Sometimes they deny people access to the embassy because there are too many people inside already and they would break fire safety codes if they let more in.

Some consulates do not allow the USC petitioner to attend the interview. This is a different situation you have currently.

You can always go with your lawyer's advice and take the envelope 'as is' to your POE. You might be fine that way. If they even bothered to ask about it, just tell them it arrived that way from the courier and that it is still sealed. Only you can make the final decision on what to do.

I sent an email but we will probably go Monday morning. The tear is only 3 inches max, it isn't big enough that someone put their hand in and messed with the papers.

I think a lot of embassies prefer email as they get a ton of calls. I can't say your embassy will be a fast but the one in Stockholm will reply withing hours or the next day if you email them late. So emailing someone doesn't always mean you'll get a late reply.

Tomorrow is a holiday :(:(:( I heard on here it can take weeks to reseal a package (something which most people could do in 5 minutes). Should I make plane tickets and show that we don't want to and shouldn't have to wait around for something like this?

I just want to cry. I don't want to use the postal service. I don't want to wait more than a few hours for something that wasn't our fault.

Go now. Stand your ground at the embassy, you are a USC and this is truly important. Stop the worry completely and go immediately to the Embassy.

The embassy is an hour plane trip from me. I will go first thing on Monday. I really want to walk out of the embassy with a new visa packet that day. I don't want to wait a few days and I don't want to use the postal service again!
