Yes Pitaya, but you have to agree that there are many ways to ruin it.

If I:

  1. Enter the US and marry there would be trouble because of the double intention and all that stuff.
  2. Stay in the US and then request the status adjusment I'd be over-staying and breaking the law.

So that's why I'm thinking about the bridge marriage, that way I wouldn't be entering nor lying in my intention and we would be legally married in the US (if I'm not mistaken).

The getting married bit is not an issue; you can get married in the USA just fine.

The illegal bit is if you use your tourist visa to enter the USA with the intent of staying. Whether you marry after entering on the tourist visa, or before that in Mexico, or on the bridge, it is visa fraud.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
