Hi,

Will a pregnancy have any impact on processing at St Luke's or the US Embassy for a spouse Visa? Will she be allowed to do the required medical tests at St Luke's and the interview at the embassy?

Thanks

edit.

Usually it's not a problem. Unless she doesn't want to do the xray.

No problem with USEM interview. They don't really care. At the medical xrays and vaccines are what will be discussed with her.

If she tells SLEC she is pregnant they won't do the x-ray no matter. Which will require different method to check for TB.

If she chooses to proceed with the medical, then they will provide an additional protective covering.

"All visa applicants 15 years old and above, male or female, are required to have chest x-ray to immigrate. Pregnant women will have proper shielding as a precautionary measure of radiation hazards. Pregnant applicants may have an option to defer medical examination including chest x-ray until delivery."

Is it possible to do the shots before going to St Luke's? If so is there a list somewhere of what to get?

Yes but why? All vaccines are inclusive in the medical fee so don't bother paying another doctor.

The shots are included in the meducal fee so I for one do not see a reason not to wait for the exam.

St. Luke's won't give you vaccinations if you're pregnant. They'll just say you need to have it done in the US after the baby is born. They will do the x-ray and have a shield for her abdomen.

My wife's pregnant right now and her exam at St. Luke's was a few months ago while she was pregnant.
