Statement from Employer for I-134

Hey everyone,

I have been doing lots of research and while I have found similar threads I would like answers pertaining to my own question.

My fiancé (the USC) works full time sales for a roofing and renovation company. He makes more than enough to fill out the affidavit of support without a co-sponsor. The proof requirements for the I-134 include getting a statement from the employer on business stationary stating position, date started etc. My fiancé has told me that his boss (the owner of the company) does not have company letterhead for his company but of course would be willing to write out the details needed - how should I go about doing this? Should I attach his business card to a typed statement? He does have work contracts for his customers to fill out with the company logo on it - would it be unprofessional to write the statement on the back of a work contract? We of course have his W-2/tax-info/paystubs to support my fiancé's employment at this company.

Also, most of his income comes from commission rather than salary - but it still clears well over the minimum income level. Would this cause concern because it's not a "stable" income even though it's obviously sufficient?

Thanks in advance for your help! I'm in the US now bored while he is at work and so I am trying to get everything ready for packet 3 :)

If you have tax returns/transcripts, w-2s, and pay stubs, you don't need a statement from his employeer too. I realize the instructions make it sound like you need ALL of that documentation, but in reality you don't.

It wouldn't take much for the employer to simply make up a stationary for the purpose of this letter. This could easily be done on any word processing program

Thanks I will try and get him to do that, if not it seems like it's not too necessary anyways.

Ah okay I see that now, thanks for the tip!
