Interview

I received the email from NVC stating the interview date, (7/6.) We find that we are not ready to proceed at this time. I called the number quoted, and they asked for the beneficiary's passport number. I did not have that handy at the time of the call. The woman attempted to locate the beneficiary using name, DOB, etc., but could not locate her. She mentioned that it was probably because a profile had yet to be created.

My question: Is there an easier way to proceed to change/postpone/cancel the scheduled interview? Maybe there is an online portal that I can use? We wish to postpone until maybe January. This would give the beneficiary an opportunity to finish out her current school year before being thrown into a new school in a different country so quickly.

I understand that the visa petition remains 'alive' in the embassy for up to a year from the initial interview appointment notice.

Any help with this endeavor will be greatly appreciated.

I think now is the right time for school starts Aug or Sept here in the US. Children adapt way quicker than adults and makes friends easily with other kids.

Anyhow, what does the CEAC status say?

It could take a few days up to weeks to change to "ready". Mine took 16 days from the time I received the interview letter.

Ok...finally changed to 'Ready'. I went to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph, to create account. It won't let me. I put the beneficiary's name in the name box to create account. No good. I tried my own name too...no good. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
