Hi I'm new here in this forum and I really don't know how it works. So obviously I'm really frustrated about this. I have an F2A-F22. My mother petitioned me. And I had my interview last April 22, 2015 and was given the 221(g) because they needed the original copy of affidavit of support, which I gave them immediately. Right now, my status is still on AP and was last updated may 11, 2015. My mother is sick and needs attending to because she can't drive and needs to be in hospital every now and then for check ups and my brother lives an hour drive away from her house. She's having chemotherapy and blood transfusion(please pray for her). Is there any way they could issue the visa earlier in this kind of situation? Btw My brother asked the hospital if they could give a letter stating our mother's condition, and they said yes. Is it going to help to have my visa soonest? Thank you so much in advance. I hope someone could help us. ????????

My thoughts and best wishes to your mother.

At this point there may not be much of anything to do as you are so close to having the visa. Maybe the letter will speed things up, but seriously I doubt it. No harm in trying for sure.

Also there seems to be a problem currently where no Embassies/Consulates are able to print visas....

I read about emergency visa, can it be applied to me? Thank you for wishing her the best. I hope she gets well soon.

I don't think there's a problem about printing. I have a friend who got her visa a week later from her interview. So fast.

I believe the issue only affects visas being printed after June 9, so your friend probably got in right before the problem started

You are almost done.. just be patient as tough as that is to do. There is not another visa that could apply to your situation

I know. It's just I can't stand doing nothing for my mom. I hope they give me my visa soon. How long does it usually take to have your visa when they give you 221(g)?

First I would like to say I hope your mother is recovering and will be home and that you can be with her soon.

Now to your question. No one can answer that question. We have seen 2 weeks to 6 or more months. It all depends on so many factors. It's now a waiting game. Remember the game that you played when you and a friend would stare at each other and the looser was the one that blinked first. Well, that's what waiting for a visa is. Are they going to get your visa to you before you go mental.

Sorry, just trying to lighten things up a bit. You just have to have patience.

You might want to send off an email to the Ombudsman for DHS. Here is the e-mail for the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV. The Ombudsman provides an impartial and independent perspective to USCIS in an attempt to resolve problems.

The other thing you can do is contact your congressman on her behalf. See this link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/505860-letter-to-the-representativesenator/ all in the hopes of getting expedited.

Good luck. I'll keep your mother in my prayers.

Thank you much !!! I'll ask my brother to do what you just said. I have a question, i don't know if it's relevant it just came into my head. What about my medical examination? It does have an expiration right? What will happen if I don't get my visa before my medical exam expires? Do I have to take another medical exam? It's only valid until October and the fee is a bit pricey.

am soo sorry to hear about your mother, prayer she gets well soon. your medical 6 months to 1 year in some country, look yours up. maybe you will get your visa before it expired.

Currently, we are unable to print most immigrant and nonimmigrant visas approved after June 8, 2015. In addition, U.S. embassies and consulates are unable to process new applications submitted on or after June 9, 2015. If you have a visa interview appointment scheduled for June 14-20, 2015, and you submitted your DS-160 online application **after June 9, 2015,** you should reschedule your appointment. If you submitted

This is the greatest lesson a child can learn. It is the greatest lesson anyone can learn. It has been the greatest lesson I have learned: if you persevere, stick w/it, work @ it, you have a real opportunity to achieve something. Sure, there will be storms along the way. And you might not reach your goal right away. But if you do your best and keep a true compass, you'll get there. Edward M. Kennedy,

Hi! I just want to let you guys updated about my visa. Well, it went from admistrative processing to ready. I just don't get it why it says there about having an interview when in fact I already had my interview. Weird. By the way thank you everyone for all the help and prayers! ☺️??
