Checked Montreal online. It does not advise people to wait. It does say those with appts between june 14 and june 20 should be rescheduled.

Thanks! I'm not able to call or visit their site while at work. This is the first I've heard of all this and I panicked a little.

Unfortunately it impacts ALL visas. They are only issuing emergency visas for humanitarian work and for those going to pick up adopted kids overseas.

Oh dang, I was pretty sure that I've seen somewhere that it would only affect no immigrants visas =/

We had our interview yesterday, and they said the only thing it affected in our case was the printing of the visa. All they did was approve us and tell us that we had to wait for the actual printing.

Also- our embassy said it was a hack. Not sure if embassies were given much more information since what we all got was so vague, but that's what ours was apparently told.

Hi everybody!

This is the last update from DoS FB page:

UPDATE: We continue to address technical problems with our visa systems. Public and private sector experts are working around the clock to correct the problem, but we do not expect the system will be online before next week. Some visa applicants will experience delays in receiving their visas. Others will be contacted directly to reschedule their upcoming appointments. If you have urgent humanitarian travel needs, you should contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.

For the full text of our latest update, please visit our website.

We do understand this is affecting your travel, and we apologize. Please understand that we cannot respond to individual case inquiries via social media platforms. Please visit the website of your local embassy/consulate for location-specific information, and contact the embassy or consulate where you applied for your visa if you have questions about your individual case or if you would like to retrieve your passport until your visa can be printed. We will continue to post updated information as it becomes available.

question (apologies if it's been addressed already). are they taking into consideration the expiration dates on the NOA2s for those that they are asking to reschedule the interviews? i know I'm still a little far from that happening to me but was just wondering if anyone knew what would happen if they can't reschedule it before their NOA2 expires since it has to be valid for the interview. thanks everyone! :)

99% of the time they are automatically extended to a year. If yours is coming just request an extension.

This is a huge event, and many opinions are given. We will never know for sure what happened, for sure. They would never admit a vast lack of protection for their data bases.

Yes, I am a little confused about a statement I see repeated.

It says, no visas can be printed or sent out for anyone filing before about June 8-9.

We have been in AP since May 29, so that was well before June 8-9, so will our visa be issued?

But, we are told, "no visas can be printed at any foreign consulates".,.,., to me that is confusing.

Why are they using the June 8-9 date, but also say no visa are being printed. This is just typical US Immigration "double talk" as they want you confused.

So, my guess is even though we are listed as AP since May 29 (not June 8-9) we will have no visa printed, until this mess is cleaned up.

Did anyone see the head of the data bases security, (not sure the proper name for our data bases) before congress this morning, "she could not answer one question, as to "who, what when, where, how long" this government is "lost."

The date is when the DS-160 online started messing up. They cannot do background checks on people as of that date who fill out a DS-160. That completely stops the processing of non immigrant petitions who didn't do their DS160 before that date.

Seperately but yet I assume somehow connected they lost the ability to print all visas.
